Basics of Electricity for kids

We use interactive games to help children engage with electrical circuits. Learning through playing will help teach children how to work with electricity, and will make them more familiar with the concepts involved.

Ensure that the child has the basic theory of electricity understood before progressing onto more complex devices, such as making electric cars, remote controlled toys and robots. Building a strong foundation will help children become comfortable with more advanced scientific concepts.

What to cover in this lesson?

  • Source of electricity: Dry cell, wind power, hydro power, thermal power, solar power
  • Production of electricity: using dynamo, solar panel
  • Identify common tools and materials used in electricity
  • Identify different components of a simple electric circuit: Dry cell, Switch, Bulb and connecting ware
  • Constructing a simple electric circuit
